The Observatory

The ahead Community will launch the ahead  Observatory to monitor ongoing advancements in artificial intelligence within biomedicine and healthcare, drawing on insights from multiple disciplines.

The Observatory will compile and curate existing guidelines, best practices, and principles for AI evaluation in the biomedical and healthcare sectors, incorporating technical, societal, legal, and other relevant perspectives. It will also develop new, integrated resources to support professionals with multidisciplinary backgrounds, equipping them with transferable skills to advance their careers and broaden their impact.

Special attention will be given to rapidly evolving disruptive technologies, such as Large Language Models (LLMs), as well as emerging issues like neurorights and embedded bioethics.

All collected and developed materials will be made available through a publicly accessible database.
